Owner's Comments

Closest complex to the water in Poipu, this corner unit in Kuhio Shores is situated on the third floor. Repeat guests come year after year to enjoy our oceanfront condo. Whether it's to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves, relaxing on the lanai enjoying a drink or watching the surfers, whales or the family of sea turtles that come in every evening to feed, staying here will be the highlight of your trip!

This condo features a one bedroom with a king bed and also has a pullout queen sofa. Laundry facilities are found on each floor and there is an onsite manager. The fully-equipped kitchen has a blender, microwave, coffee maker, etc. We recently remodeled the kitchen and bath with all new tile, appliances and fixtures. We have beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella and cooler for guests to use.

Compared to other one bedroom units our corner unit has several advantages. The view is spectacular--270 degrees. You can look out out towards the bay and the green mountains beyond, and all the way around, down the coast of Poipu. Whales, porpoise, surfers and turtles can all be enjoyed from the privacy of your lanai. Speaking of privacy, our bedroom is on the ocean side, not along the hallway on the parking lot side. All you hear are the waves, not late night departing or early arriving guests with their suitcases. Whether you are honeymooners or retirees you will definitely appreciate the privacy. The corner units are the largest by square footage with a larger living room area. Another advantage of our corner unit is the superior ventilation. Huge bay windows facing into the tradewinds allow flow through ventilation when the ocean side windows or sliding door are open.

And just in case the trade winds don't blow, we recently installed centra air conditioning.

We are sad to be home, but what memories we brought back. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful condo in what we now refer to as PARADISE. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The pics of your condo on the web did not do it justice. I bet you hear that all the time. We walked in and couldn't believe how nice it was. The view is spectacular! I actually struggled leaving each day to see other parts of the island. With that view and all the action right there under your lanai ... who needs to leave!?! Every day was fun ... except, the day we had to leave (tear).
The turtles were a blast to watch. I had to be fast to catch a picture of them on the rocks as the waves seemed to knock them off quite fast. I got a few good ones though. I even captured a few good pictures of whales. We saw many during our stay. I was so fortunate to see a whale breach during Super Bowl. I was sitting on your couch and watched a whale jump up and flop into the ocean causing a big splash. I let out a shriek and my hubby only caught the big splash that lingered after the whale went under. I was so excited. It beat the excitement of the game for me, anyway. About that ... thanks for supplying such a nice flat screen television for the game. My hubby was very appreciative. I enjoyed it, too, but the big picture out your windows were more entertaining for me. I think my husband will actually agree with that.

You have a wonderful place at Kuhio Shores, so I m not surprised that it books out early. Just checking in with you to confirm that we re still on schedule for 5 nites in 2011, arr Feb 22 depart Feb 27th. So for 2012 we d like to arrive on 23 Feb depart on 28 Feb. For 2013 we d like to arrive 22 Feb and depart 27 Feb. Why don t you just keep our deposit and roll it over year to year, and we ll pay the full amount up front each year?

We really enjoyed our week at your lovely condo. The updates you have accomplished there make the place functional and well as beautiful. We have stayed at a number of KS units over the years, but yours is by far our favorite. The location can t be beat with the view of both bay and open ocean. The cross-ventilation is very good and noise from the parking area non-existent. And thank you so much again for allowing us to extend our last day until 4:30. We hope to be back again in the not too distant future.

Your condo was fabulous! Dick was complaining because your place wasn't going to have air, plus a queen bed. We were pleasantly surprised to see a king bed, and there was no need for air. We even shut the windows at night. We got some good photos of turtles and a monk seal was on the beach one entire day - got some good video of both as well. Sunday night while watching the sunset, there had been a wedding at the Beach House and a guy was playing the guitar while they were doing wedding photos. It was awesome! We have stayed at the Kauai Beach Villas in Lihue, at Makahuena in Poipu, and last year we rented a 3 bedroom home in Kekaha as family went with us. Your place definitely was best in view, closest to the water, and location. Thanks for making it possible for people to enjoy paradise by providing such a wonderful place.
