Owner's Comments

Aloha! We are Brian and Allyson (Ally) Lipscomb from Polson, Montana. We fell in love with Kauai and more specifically this oceanfront property of Kuhio Shores back in 2006 when we first visited. We recently got the opportunity to make our dreams to own a unit in this tropical paradise a reality. Each day boasts its own beauty and the sea life is abundant with whale watching season between the months of December and May, spinner dolphins, sea turtles, spotted eagle rays, fishes of every color and sort, eels and more. Bask in relaxation on the lanai with your favorite tropical drink all the while being entertained by amateur and professional surfers honing their sport on a daily basis. Cook your own meals in our fully equipped kitchen or try some of the local fare to fill your belly before going out on the many adventures the island has to offer.

Aloha Ally and Brian,

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate our 35th anniversary. We have been on too many adventures to visit them all, but these were the highlights:

*Doors off helicopter tour of the entire island.
*NaPali Catamaran, 4 hour trip down the coastline & snorkeling at Tunnels.
*At Haena State Park, we liked the Kalalou Trail to Hanakapi’ai Beach
*Attended a luau, snorkeled a few times, & Norm even took a surfing lesson!

Sitting on the lanai, watching the waves and surfers can’t be beat! The condo has been a delight. We’re so happy to have stayed here!

Ally & Brian,

Thanks for sharing your home with us, especially the AC and the master bed!! Your place is fabulous, loved the stars at night, turtles, surfers...and sunsets!

Great coffee in Kilauea, fantastic food at Japanese Grandma’s in Hanapepe, wonderful snorkeling at Tunnels Beach!

The wedding photos taken in front of our lanai on the rocks almost nightly was very entertaining.

This is our favorite place to stay! Mahalo

Uncle Brian & Aunt Ally,

Thank you so so much for letting us stay here for our honeymoon! We had a great time getting sunshine and living the island life!

Highlights from our trip included:

*hiking in Waimea Canyon
*taking a fishing charter out of Lihue
*snorkeling alongside sea turtles!
*and eating as much poke and fresh fruit as we possible could!

We spent hours on the lanai watching surfers, sea turtles, & humpback whales.

Thank you for a truly magical honeymoon!

I am so thankful your very lovely condo was available so I could visit with my sister, also staying at Kuhio Shores. I will be back and will bring my husband with me next time.

My sister and I snorkeled lots, took walks, did the mountain inner tubing and ate lots of great food that her husband prepared for us.

Afternoons were spent on the lanai with Mai Tais & I spent the week doing acrylic paint water studies with the ocean as my inspiration.

The whales put on QUITE the show this week-as did the turtles! The sun tucked itself into bed each night in a sea of tangerine. I’ll be dreaming of coming back her again one day. I adore the love you put into the condo.

P.S. We did the Allerton Garden tour, too, this trip. That was fascinating!

We loved staying in your beautiful condominium. It was so well equipped & I love the turquoise color! So fun! And of course, the outside here is amazing-the snorkeling, hiking, boat ride to NaPali Coast, so many gorgeous beaches. What a great escape! I hope we can return one day.

We were here in Kuhio Shores for our honeymoon 15 years ago (the unit upstairs) and we had the time of our lives coming back here to stay at Kuhio Shores. We love this unit and will always come back-it truly was thoughtfully detailed and had everything we needed and more.

Turtles, whales, surfers-lots of love and aloha!

Thank you Brian & Allyson! Mahalo, The Fagones

Ally & Brian,

Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us! We went on so many fun adventures and love this place! The lanai was perfect for turtle watching! This place was by far the best place we have stayed!

We will be back soon!

Ally & Brian,

My first time to Hawaii and we got to stay at your lovely condo! The decor is so inviting and soothing! What a cozy place to make it home for us. I love to get up in the morning listening to the sound of waves At the end of the day we time it well to watch the beauty of the sunset!

We have everything we need staying at your condo and grateful that my daughter recommended us to stay her instead of a hotel.

P.S. Kauai lives up to it’s name as the Garden Island. We love it!

Aloha,

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at this wonderful place! We were able to experience the historic swell from our balcony and see 18ft waves! Everyone was standing outside cheering for the surf & the waves. The turtles came back when the waves calmed down.

We did Waimea Canyon, considered living in Hanalei, plenty of nearby beaches, the best MaiTais next door, listened to the Kauai guidebook for the best views of NaPali Coast State Park, and rode bikes in KaPa’a.

Our favorite food was the incredible fish burrito at the food truck Al Pastor Tacos on Kuhio Hwy (2nd time coming back for them), fun drinks & delicious fish at Living Foods at the Shops, and Da Crack’s burritos are HUGE!

Sad to leave, but we know we will be back. In love w/ the room theming/decor AND you guys really thought of everything someone may need. Going to miss the FJ Cruiser as well!

Daren, Jenn & Makayla

P.S. Full moon was amazing!

Aloha,

This was the perfect escape from a very busying stressful week! Being able to wake up to the ocean waves every day was a special treat. Whether it was breakfast on the lanai or watching the sunset in the grass below, we could not be more happy with this cozy & calm slice of paradise!

During our time here we were able to explore the area, snorkel, biplane, hike/sight see and more but the best part of this experience was being able to relax around all these natural wonders!

We leave to continue our experience on the north side of the island hoping our accommodations are as nice as the one you have provided us here!

Our sunburns sting less because of this wonderful view of watching the turtles and surfers riding the waves. This was the perfect family experience and we thank you for providing this beautiful place to stay!

Aloha Aunt Allyson & Uncle Brian,

This vacation has been by far the most relaxing and the most perfect way to spend our 20th Anniversary! The views from the lanai were spectacular! The accommodations of your condo were beyond what we could have asked for!

One of our favorite things we did while on our stay was the Smith Family Luau! Definitely a must do!

Thanks again for the beautiful stay here and sharing your vacation home with us!

Mahalo Ally & Brian!

Amazing!! We loved staying here-your hospitality is bar none-everything was on point, the decor down to the bug spray!

We had such an amazing time celebrating Nancy’s “60th”. We enjoyed all your favorites from Tunnels, Shipwreck, Poipu, Brennecke’s, Baby Beach (such a great neighborhood). Kauai Coffee, The Beach House (Monkey Pod Mai Tais!!) Bubbas, DaCrack (yes, the burritos are huge!!)

We had great adventures, Zodiac boat to NaPali Coast w/ snorkeling. Kayak to the Secret Falls, Kilauea Light House, visited Princeville & jumped off the pier at Hanalei Bay and swam in the Queen’s Bath! And, to top it all off, relaxed on the lanai sipping Mai Tais and Pina Coladas watching the surf (and surfers) and enjoyed the Aloha sunsets.

We have been repeat visitors to Kuhio Shores for 15 years now. We even stayed in this condo years ago before you owned it. We were both just “wowed” by how nicely and thoughtfully decorated this condo is. By far the absolute “BEST EVER”. We come here to snorkel & enjoy the lanai. We have seen the island and experienced all the adventures. There was a high surf warning so watching the surfers was entertaining.

Thank you for all the little extras...”coffee, paper towels, soap, etc.” I left some extras for others to share.

See ya next year,

What a wonderful once in a lifetime trip! This was a wonderful way to celebrate 25 years (a year late because of Covid) It was our first trip to Kauai and we have fallen in love with this paradise.

First, we loved the condo! So welcoming and comfortable. We could have spent days on end sitting on the deck watching the the ocean, surfers, sunset & even turtles. We went snorkeling, hiking, driving, went to the Smith Family Luau & the Princeville Botanical Garden Tour. Everything we did exceeded our expectations.

Thank you Allyson and Brian for your hospitality. We won’t ever forget these wonderful memories and would hope to return again.

Hi Ally & Brian,

You must be taking a class in interior decorating!! What a grand combination of art choices. This is our 10th visit to this unit and your changes are most dramatic. We always so much enjoy Kuhio Shores.

Thank you for your work effort,

We have been to Kuhio Shores many times. Our favorite place! This unit has it all. It has been the absolute A1 place. This island and area are the best place to be. We will be back!

Thank you for your hospitality. We enjoyed every minute of it.

Fun being back @ Kuhio Shores. Your place looks & is amazing. It had everything we needed & the Cruiser was fun to drive. We enjoyed many of our favorite places,(Beach House, Chalupa’s Food Truck & Midnight Bear Breads along with the farmer’s markets at the Botanical

Garden on Thursday, the Kukui’ula on Wednesday & our most favorite the Puhi Market in Lihue. We ate tons of fresh veggies & fruit!! You can tell eating is one of our favorite things to do.

Mike snarled at Poipu Beach and around the corner at Lawai Beach but saw the most fish at Salt Pond Beach. Going there also brought us close to Kauai Chocolates, Talk Story Books & The Midnight Bear Bakery. All great places to visit.

Being here in the winter is so much quieter than springtime. Although it was cooler & a few days of serious rain, we never felt cold or hindered by the weather. Also, we did see whales in the distance off the lanai

. Thank you for a wonderful place to escape the cold & relax. We plan to be back again next year. Til then-take care.

What a beautiful unit. The colors, decor & everything a guest would need. We ate at Savage Shrimp-great coconut shrimp, DaCrack, Keoki’s, & Brennecke’s Beach Broiler, all great places to eat. Lawai Beach is great snorkeling on calm days. Anini Beach, Tunnels (great) & Ke’e Beach are great for snorkeling.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful place with us.

First off, we would prefer not to leave. Unfortunately for us but fortunately for the family coming after us, this place is pretty solidly booked for the next long while. We had a phenomenal trip to Maui last Spring 2022, and this condo has exceeded our previous ocean view condo, by miles. Whoa! My husband wants to buy this place! Haha! Frankly, we have a hard time leaving each day, and we are quite adventurous. Best lanai show of the last decade...who needs TV?

The accommodations here are TOP NOTCH! I love all the updates and the color scheme and attention to detail. Both beds are VERY comfortable with a great pillow selection. We chose the Murphy bed to be next to the sea. With the peaceful sounds of crashing waves, we slept so soundly. I recorded the sounds to take home with me. As a California Girl, I need my dose of vitamin sea often, particularly as we are land locked in Utah at present. Your killer sunrises and sunsets from the lanai were the icing on the cake!

The kitchen has everything we need and more. After busting my knee at Brennecke Beach (Break your knee beach) the ice packs in the freezer helped reduce the swelling! Such a home away from home! Love the tile in the bathroom and the river stone floor. Lawai Beach snorkeling was an easy jaunt and quite rewarding.

We are off to Kapa’a to experience another island side but will miss this condo greatly. I will dream of it for months!

Thanks again! Absolute slice of heaven!

We stayed in this AC equipped condo for 9 nights and we all loved it. The unit was spacious and clean and offered great views of the ocean which is just a few steps away! We loved going for a walk along the ocean and enjoying a sunset from the balcony. The unit was very well stocked with beach toys, towels, and all the kitchen supplies you would ever need! All the beds and couches were very comfortable and clean. The location of the condo was super. It was just a few minutes to the Spouting horn and the famous Poipu Beach. There is a laundry room on each floor that was convenient for cleaning dirty clothes and towels after going for a hike or a swim. Outside the condo there are many places to rinse off sand after going to the beach. There were plenty of shopping and food options nearby. We loved going to the Sueoka store because it offered plenty of grocery items and delicious food options. The host was very responsive to all our questions about the unit. We highly recommend this vacation condo to anyone. We would love to come and stay again!

Fabulous location! We loved staying in 216 Kuhio Shores. The view was incredible and we loved listening to the waves and watching the surfers at sunrise and sunset. The snorkeling was great just steps from the condo, and the views were just stunning. It was the highlight of our whole trip to Kauaii.

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful condo! I really love the decorations and how whatever you need is provided for! It was really nice to be able to come back and still be reminded you're in Hawaii and hear the waves crashing on the shore. The first thing we did while we were here was visit the beaches. None of us know how to surf, however, we do all enjoy relaxing on them and snorkeling. One of the things I think I had the most fun doing so far was strolling through Koloa Town and getting food. On our second day, we hiked Waimea Canyon. Though very muddy, I think it was worth it to see the beautiful falls and view. After this, we also visited Hanapepe Bay and the Kauai Coffee Farm. We hope to visit again soon!

PARADISE! Leave it to fellow Montanans to find the next "LAST BEST PLACE". Your condo is beautiful and comfortable (1st time on a Murphy Bed) The location is amazing and the view is astounding! I could sit on the lanai for hours watching the surfers and the turtles! Thank you for making your place available to my niece. She was sweet to invite me along on this trip and this has been the perfect setting to spend time with her and her mom. I'll forever cherish the memories and keep Kauai in my heart!

We practiced "island time" big time, so enjoyable!...lounging on the lanai, observing the turtles and the surfers, the amazing rushes of waves! Strolled through parts of Glass Beach. I have always been fascinated with cemeteries! The Kauai Coffee Co. was an interesting stretch and we finished our outing with a stop at Da Crack! (YUM!). I didn't make the whole hike at Waimea Canyon, but made a decent stab, I was terrified that I might fall on my face on some slippery stretches, getting old. Got carried away at the pie shop on the way home. WOW! We visited Poipu Bend for some swimming, dipping, was fun to people watch and see turtles. Beach House for supper! One of my all time favorites are the albizia trees. They are awesome! Made the drive to Hanalei and were traffic delayed. We had fair warning and appreciated the beautiful and unusual scenery! We ended up staying there for supper to kill some time while waiting for the road to reopen, ate at the Northside Grill and I experienced a broccolini dish that was to die for! Checked out the botanical gardens, an overcast and lovely day for it. The R&R was just what the Dr ordered for all of us! The condo is absolutely charming! Can't thank you enough!

What a delightful beach condo and what a view! We actually found it mesmerizing and hard to leave each day and enjoyed returning home each day to watch the surfers and the sunsets! Some adventures: Walking the Heritage Trail along the coast to Makauwali Cove, Spouting Horn, Kauai Coffee Co. We hiked the Waimea Canyon trail. We viewed the Wailua Falls then onto Kilauea Lighthouse and headed up to Hanalei. We waited an hour to get through before turning back to enjoy Anini Beach and drive through Princeville. Our favorite adventure was going out with Blue Ocean for a tour of Napali Coast by Zodiak. We saw several pods of dolphins, a monk seal and pup and turtles. We toured the caves and snorkeled. We walked through an ancient village on the coast and saw the most amazing coastline of the Napali Coast. Next trip to Kauai...spend time boogie boarding and relaxing on the beach! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your amazing place to experience all this!

We are so grateful that we could come to visit this year. Your place is beautiful. The ocean is so close! We packed a lot into a couple of days but still found lots of time to nap on the beach and watch the turtles surf. We made great memories for our 25th Anniversary. Thank you.
