Picture yourself awakening in Kuhio Shores 213 on the island of Kauai. The first thing you notice is the mesmerizing sound of the surf. It is a sweet lullaby enhancing your world class slumber. Consider your early morning beverage overlooking spinner dolphins, giant turtles and nimble surfers from your immediate balcony view. Pick up the binoculars or gaze through the telescope for a closer look at the surf conditions. While enjoying an island style breakfast in the mirrored dining area, the ocean's reflections inspires action. Pack up the cooler, sand chairs and towels and head to the beach. Which one? Start with the best snorkeling on the island right next door on either side! Or head 10 minutes to Poipu Beach - the world's best beach in 2006! After your day of outdoor sightseeing and/or adventure (hiking, swimming, kayaking, boating or snorkeling), return to a late afternoon book or nap and early evening "tiki time" sunset from the balcony of Kuhio Shores 213. Should you desire to walk to dinner, the Beach House is right next door. Should you desire to drive, Keoki's Paradise and Roy's is less than 10 minutes away. Either way, celebrate the end of another beautiful day in your island paradise retreat.
Unit 213 is right in the middle of the oceanfront building of Kuhio Shores; you cannot get any closer to the water. There is an elevator or stairs to the second floor and a clean well cared for laundry room with washer and dryer adjacent to the elevator. The parking is plentiful and secured. There is also an outdoor gas grill area.

Booked Kuhio Shores #213 after reading the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor. Was a bit apprehensive given that we'd never stayed at a vacation condo before, and the quality of the units seemed to differ quite a bit. Patti, the owner, was prompt and easy to deal with, and gave great directions to the Condo. We arrived to find a tastefully furnished apartment with all the necessities, with an INCREDIBLE VIEW of the water. The condo's location was really what made it so memorable. We could hear the waves crashing morning through night, it was like a lullaby. The condo also had lots of clean towels, beach chairs & umbrella, etc. and was right next to poipu beach (public) which was a great place to snorkel. The unit did not have A/C, which was fine at this time of the year. The fans kept us chilly enough to use the blankets at night. It was difficult to motivate ourselves to leave the condo (we loved to just read and stare out at the ocean)
We stayed in #213 and had a terrific time! The unit is perfectly located for sweeping ocean views and had nice patio furniture to relax on throughout the day. The first morning we were treated to a pod of spinner dolphins swimming by just after sunrise. Turtles hang out in the water literally right in front of the condo, and surfers and boogie borders are fun to watch (or join if you have some skill) in front of the Beach House restaurant next door. Sounds like a lot of activity, right? Well, you couldn't find a more peaceful retreat to enjoy. The condo was well-appointed, comfortable and modern. There's no A/C, but the ocean breeze (Trade Winds) kept everything cool and comfortable. The owner thought of all the little touches... stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and beach gear, a cooler, and great travel books and brochures to read at your leisure. Parking is plentiful, there's a hose and shower outside near the parking to rinse gear, and coin laundry is clean and convenient in the complex. It appears that the owners and management care a lot about the feeling of "ohana" at Kuhio Shores. We had a great time in Kauai last week! The condo was just as nice as advertised - we especially enjoyed the view from the lanai of the the ocean, surfers and turtles. It also provided a nice base from which to explore the entire island. We'll definitely keep it in mind if and when we are able to go back to Kauai and will recommend it to anyone else thinking of visiting there. ~ Somervile, MA - August, 2006

The bed was very comfortable and we never got tired of hearing the sound of the ocean. We have to say that we would rent this condo again in a heartbeat! The island of Kauai is by far the most lush & beautiful island of all. It was easy to get around & we sure managed to see most of the island. The condo's location was perfect & the view was absolutely breathtaking! The list of amenities, directions to the condo & all of the information we received - excellent!

We had a great time at the condo. Both the location and the condo itself were great. This was the last place we stayed on our honeymoon and it was an excellent way to finish off our vacation. We had a fantastic time in Kauai and the condo was great! It was just as described on the internet - no unpleasant surprises. Your instructions were very helpful and the extra keys were great. The condo was well decorated and all the furniture was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable! Although we didn't watch much TV, having one in the bedroom was great and we did use the DVD player. High speed internet was also very nice - it allowed us to check on various island activities. The view from the Lanai was superb and the chairs and table were great - we ate all our meals there. We watched turtles, porpoises, whales, birds, surfers, snorkelers, scuba divers, people, boats, sunrises, and sunsets from the Lanai. It was nice having a set of binoculars. The condo location is great! We snorkeled in front of the condo and saw and took pictures of plenty of fish and turtles every time. It was very nice to have some beach gear and we used the chairs, rice mats, and umbrella. Although I was a bit worried about it, a parking spot was always available - even when we came in late. We will highly recommend Kuhio Shores 213 to anyone and hope to have the opportunity to return ourselves sometime soon. ~from Littleton, CO
I WILL DEFINTELY REFER YOUR PLACE TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS. IT WAS THE PERFECT PLACE. THE CONDO WAS VERY NICE AND CLEAN. THE DECO WAS VERY COORDINATED. WE ENJOYED OUR TIME VERY MUCH. THE OCEAN WAS A HEAVENLY SIGHT, THE PATIO WAS MY FAVORITE SPOT. THE KITCHEN WAS WELL EQUIPPED AND HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. EVEN GOT A CHANCE TO COOK A COUPLE OF BREAKFASTS AND DINNER. We found the people on Kauai to be very friendly and the condo manager was very nice to us too. Poipu is a nice resort town and Kuhio Shores is in a great location within Poipu. The location of unit #213 within the Kuhio Shores complex is great and we enjoyed viewing sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed being able to walk through the gate, to dinner at The Beach House Restaurant. We saw your pricing as a good value by Hawaii standards. The ambiance was very nice on the deck and the two hooks mounted on each side of the deck were very useful to hang our snorkel suits after rinsing. ~from Lahaina, HI
